Tulloch Castle Investigation
On our arrival at Tulloch Castle we were greeted by a member of staff, Joanne Mitchell, who gave us a guided tour, the history of the building and information on past unexplained occurences. We were then ushered to the Great Hall, our base for the night, to set up our equipment.
We commenced the investigation by splitting into two teams to cover different areas of the Castle, we used two way radios to keep in touch.
Castle Dungeon
The castle dungeon was used in the past for housing prisoners. We investigated the dungeon using sound recording equipment, digital camcorders, EMF meter and digital cameras. The dungeon has a distinctly heavy atmosphere, after sitting for a short time in the dark, we decided to try a table tipping experiment. Four of us gathered round the table and asked for some spirit communication. The table seemed to vibrate on occasions but we did not achieve full movement of the table. Throughout the table tipping one of our team members felt unwell and another two stated that they had felt as if they were seasick. On checking our camcorder footage from the dungeon we have captured many orbs which seemed active during the table tipping experiment. While sitting in the dark, two of our team members were startled as they noticed a strange ball of light travelling just outside the door of the room, we cannot explain this.
We returned later in the investigation to try table tipping again with the rest of the team hoping that more participants would help to strengthen the experiment, nothing happened.
EMF readings and temperature in the dungeon were normal and the voice recording equipment provided no results.
Guest Room
Guest room 8 is the scene of some past activity where a guest awoke during the night to find that he was pinned to the bed and could hardly breath, the atmosphere in the room was icy cold. He managed to pick up the bedside telephone and contacted the reception area to appeal for help, the duty manger arrived at the room to a very cold and strange atmosphere.
As we started the investigation in guest room 8 we seemed to be getting lots of orbs on our digital still cameras and decided to set up a digital camcorder and voice recording equipment, we also left a trigger object on a tray of flour. We decided to leave the room and return in an hour to check the results.
On returning to room 8 the first thing that we noticed was that the toilet light had been switched on and were adamant that it was not on when we left. The trigger object had not moved. On checking the camcorder footage we discovered a number of orbs just after we had left the room there and was also a distinct clicking noise and then a fan going on, this seemed to be in coming from the toilet, we are delighted that we seem to have recorded the noise of the light and fan going on in the toilet with nobody present In the room. Throughout the camcorder footage there is constant noise in the room, clicks, bangs and thuds that we cannot explain.
Pink Room
The pink room in the Castle has also been the scene of past activity, the ghost of a former maid has been spotted pacing along the room.
On investigating the pink room we noticed that we were getting very high EMF readings around one particular table. We investigated the possible causes for the meter to be giving us abnormally high readings, with no satisfactory conclusions, the readings in this area constantly changed. We started to take many digital photos and were getting a lot of orbs appearing around the area where the EMF meter readings were high. One of our team decided to lift the tablecloth and take a photograph of the underside of the table, the result was a photo of two massive orbs. We were also using a digital camcorder around this area and everything seemed to be normal. On checking back the camcorder footage we got a shock, the camcorder had been placed on top of the particular table that we had caught the orbs and high EMF readings on, it had only been put down for about 1 minute as the user was retrieving another piece of equipment, one of the chairs next to the table moves all by itself with nobody near it. We have checked the footage of the chair moving over and over again I an attempt to find a satisfactory explanation. We cannot explain it. This is some of the best paranormal footage that we have ever recorded.
Great Hall
The Great Hall has been the subject of past paranormal occurrences. A former owner of the castle has been spotted pacing up and down the hall.
We captured many orb photographs in the Great Hall and decided to have a séance to attempt to summon some spiritual communication. The séance was recorded by 5 camcorders that we set up around the table. During the séance we heard noises coming from the corners of the room and felt distinctive cold spots. On checking back our footage we witnessed orbs around the table. One of our camcorders had an infrared torch strapped to the top of it, much to our shock at one point in the séance the torch came off and went crashing to the floor, we switched on the lights, strapped the torch back on to the camcorder a recommenced the séance. A couple of minutes later, the torch once again came off of the camcorder and crashed to the floor. On checking back our footage, our other camcorders have picked this up, the torch seems to come off the camcorder in a strong and violent fashion. We have checked the trajectory that the torch took as it fell from the camcorder and tried to reconstruct the event as it happened, we cannot seem to get the same trajectory without physically hitting the torch off the camcorder. We also picked up orbs on another camcorder just before, and just after the torch crashed to the floor.
Tulloch Castle is a fantastic location that is very rich in Paranormal activity. Our investigation lasted 8 hours, which is still not enough to cover the whole castle. We shall certainly return at some point in the future to carry out more investigation..
We would like to say thank you to Tulloch Castle for the chance to investigate this fantastic location, for their warm welcome and excellent hospitality.
