Walkround
We began the evening by doing a walkround of the entire building. We began in the bar area. We managed to capture several light anomalies on digital camera in this area. No unusual EMF or Trifield readings were picked up in this area. We then moved upstairs to the restaurant. Again we caught many light anomalies on camera. We also picked up on some activity in the area just a couple of feet in front of the bar, using the EMF and Tri Field meters. We could find no logical explanation for these readings which reached up to 3 milligaus. We moved on to the upper floors which contain all the bedrooms. We took lots of still digital photos and nothing unusual was detected. There was no noticeable activity on the 2nd floor, however the distinct change in atmosphere could be felt as soon as we entered the 3rd floor, the attic space. The temperature was noticeably lower on this top floor and several members of the team felt distinctly uncomfortable. We heard banging noises which could not be explained and one of the team members witnessed a flash of light coming from room 9. There were no unusual EMF or Tri Field readings detected on the upper floors.
Restaurant
Temp – 22 degrees
We began our vigils in the restaurant area. We decided to try using a communication board. We also ran voice recorders and took photos as well as filming the vigil using camcorders. We did not get any movement on the communication board, however when we asked for any spirits to communicate with us, we did hear a knock. We asked again for confirmation and heard the knock again. One of the team felt their chair being jolted backwards while taking part in the communication board séance. We also heard footsteps, which we managed to catch on camcorder. The following EVP files were picked up on digital voice recording equipment during this vigil:

Bedroom 3
Temp 15 degrees
We split up into two groups. Lisa, Nic and Andrew set up in bedroom 3 using camcorders, digital cameras and voice recorders. We asked out for some communication with spirits, but we did not get any response. There were a couple of light anomalies captured on the camcorder. We had some problems with the voice recorder we were using. For some unexplained reason it would keep switching itself off. One of our team members replaced the batteries three times on this recorder and the same thing kept happening. This continued until later in the evening when it seemed to be working fine. We cannot find any reasonable explanation for this. The team all heard some noise coming from above. It sounded like light footsteps running above us. We checked with the other group using two-way radios, who were on the floor above but they were all sitting still in bedroom 7. We also took some still digital photos, but nothing unusual was detected. No unusual activity was detected using the EMF meters.
Bedroom 7
Temp 20 degrees
The rest of the team, Mark, Paul, Dave and Stewart set up in bedroom 7 for their vigil using camcorders, digital cameras, voice recorders, EMF meters and Trifield meter. Again, several light anomalies were captured on still camera and camcorders, see video file1, video file 2 & video file 3. There were also several knocking noises heard which could not be explained, these noises were captured on camcorder. The following EVP files were captured on our digital voice recorders:

“ Hamilton” – we recorded this name on two separate occasions.
No unusual activity was detected using the EMF and Trifield meters during this vigil.
Bedroom 7 – Whole Team
Temp 20 degrees
We decided to get the whole team back together and try using the communication board in bedroom 7. This time we seemed to be getting a lot of movement through the glass. We were not able to make out any words from the movement. The movement continued for some time but no sense was made of the apparent communication. We also caught a light anomaly on digital camera hovering just above the heads of the people using the communication board. No unusual activity was detected using the EMF and Trifield meters.
Stairwell
Temp 18 degrees
The whole team took to the stairwell for our next vigil as a figure has reportedly been seen in this area. We all sat very still and asked for some communication. The Trifield meter started picking up some activity, so we aimed our cameras towards it and managed to catch a light anomaly coming away from the Trifield Meter as it was giving a reading. At this time we also took some still photos using digital cameras and a strange red mist appeared which seems to be hovering near the Trifield meter. We can find no rational explanation for these things happening especially as they all happened in a short space of time. Voice recorders were used during this vigil, but there were no clear results.
2nd Floor Corridor
Temp 20 degrees
The whole team set up on the second floor. Four of the team were in bedroom 3 with the door open and the remaining team members were positioned in the corridor. We caught several light anomalies in the corridor on camcorder during this vigil. We used voice recorders in this area but very little was picked up. We spent some time in this area but no other unusual activity was recorded. EMF and Trifield meter readings remained normal.
Attic Corridor
Temp 12 degrees
The team went to the corridor on the top floor for our final vigil of the evening. We asked out for some communication and we did hear some noises which could not be explained, but seemed to be coming from the stairwell. Using the voice recorders the following EVP files were captured during this vigil:

“Arthur here”
We took still digital photos but nothing unusual was detected during this time. We spent quite a bit of time in this area but no other activity was recorded during this vigil. No unusual activity was detected using the EMF and Tri Field meters.
Bedroom 7 – Lock Offs
We left a camcorder locked off in bedroom 7 while the team were investigating other areas. We managed to capture several bright flashes of light, one of which seems to be pulsating and changes direction. There were also several unexplainable clicks heard on the camcorder tape. We also left a wireless camera running in this room while we were investigating the lower floors. This was being filmed on a TV/Video combi that was set up in the restaurant area. Several light anomalies were picked up on this footage.
Summary
There definitely seemed to be a lot of unexplainable happenings at the Cathedral House Hotel. We got EMF and Trifield readings, lots of light anomalies on camcorders and still images, lots of apparent voices and even a chair being moved. We feel that although things seemed to quieten down towards the end of our investigation, the building would warrant further investigation.
Cathedral House Hotel is a great location that has had many reported ghost sightings and experiences. We would love to return at some point in the future to carry out further investigation.
