Conference Rooms Walkround – Scott felt that this was a very important area. He felt that a lot of the unexplained events stemmed from this area, as if it were a portal of some kind. Scott felt that the area was dominated by someone who was feared by others. Ladies Toilet Walkround – This area seemed to be very negative compared to other parts of the castle. Scott felt that this area had been redecorated to try and disguise the negative atmosphere, as though a lot of people would have reported feeling uncomfortable in this area. He felt that people were confined in this area or somewhere close by. Vigil (Dave and Stewart) – Unfortunately, as the ladies toilet is just off a main hallway, we were unable to get complete darkness. Voice recorders were run, but nothing was detected. This area seemed to make people feel quite uncomfortable, and several light anomalies were picked up on the camcorder. We experienced very unusual EMF readings, near to this area is a doorway leading back to the reception and the closer we got to it the more our EMF meters would fluctuate. These readings could not be explained as the meter was going off the scale even when it was nowhere near any walls or equipment. All temperature readings remained constant. Dining Room Walkround – Scott picked up on the names James (the second) and Violet/Victoria in the dining room. He felt that this area would have been used as a dining room long before the castle was turned into a hotel. Scott felt that there had been a disagreement that turned quite nasty. He sensed that the woman he was picking up, Violet/Victoria, was the person who dominated here, and that people were very scared of her. He felt she had two daughters with her, possibly twins. Scott felt that he had someone watching him, possibly connected with the portrait that hangs in the dining room. The portrait does not show a name. Vigil (Joanne and Scott) – During this vigil, flashing lights were seen but unfortunately, they were not captured on camera. Scott felt that the woman from the portrait was present with them and when looking at the picture it seemed to become three dimensional as if she had been attempting to step down from it. Scott was actually quite shocked by this event as he had never experienced anything quite like it. Unusual EMF readings were picked up near the fireplace which had been described in the past as “a portal to the other side”. All temperature readings remained constant. Bar Area Walkround – Scott felt that this area was used as an observation point, a place to watch what others were doing. He felt that there was a dominant male figure here, someone who had spent a lot of time here in life. Scott got an image of banners flying while in this room, but was unsure what the connection was. Vigil (Whole team) – We tried using the communication board but did not get any noticeable movement. Many light anomalies were captured on our still photographs in this area,. It seemed that whoever was there was quite happy to observe us and not respond to our questions. We attempted asking questions whilst monitoring using our low frequency sound recorders and received a muffled name, we then asked if the person could repeat their name and captured the answer "McDonald" (See EVP File 1). Bruce Suite Walkround – Even though this room on the lower level of the castle, Scott felt that he was being drawn further down and was being shown water. Unknown to him there is actually an old well below this room. He felt that there was a lot of sadness here. He also picked up on a religious connection and a priest. He sensed someone being brought down here to die. Scott felt that this would be a very active area and that there would have been a lot of reported activity in this room. Again he picked up on a connection with twins. Vigil (John and Andrew) – During this vigil, nothing unusual was detected until they were about to leave, when John experienced a very cold feeling at his back and neck as there was a presence close to him. Vigil (Whole team) – We decided to try using the communication board, but had no noticeable movement. Several noises were heard at one end of the hall, which we were unable to explain. The whole team seemed to be feeling very flat and very tired in this area. We managed to capture many light anomalies in this area on both our video footage and still photographs. All EMF and temperature readings remained constant. Bedroom 9 Walkround – Scott picked up on a woman with a stillborn baby, or a baby who had died very young. He got the name Kate/Katie in connection with this. He also felt there was a man called Thomas who was trying to help this woman. Scott felt the presence of the two daughters he had felt earlier. He felt that these were not very nice women. He also felt that there was a man called Henry in this area. Scott sensed that people would refuse to stay in this room due to the atmosphere felt here. Vigil (Mark and Paul) – During this vigil, some noises were heard in the corridor outside the bedroom. No other team members were in this area at that time. A noise like a moan was heard and when checking back on the camcorder, it seems to be a woman saying “I’m here”. We asked for a name while running one of our low frequency sound recorders and quite clearly heard the name “David Baxter” in response (See EVP File 2). There were also several light anomalies picked up on the camcorder The bathroom area of this room had a distinctively oppressive atmosphere, very different from the room itself. Later in the investigation the room was locked off with a camcorder recording inside, several noises and light anomalies were captured during this time. (See Video Files-Video File 1- Video File 2 - Video File 3 (Noise) ) All EMF and temperature readings remained constant. Bedroom 14 Walkround – Scott picked up on a woman with a crying baby. It seemed the baby was crying because the mother was so sad. He felt the years 1698 and 1725 were significant to this area. Scott also felt an elderly woman who died in this room. Another woman called Elizabeth also walks this area. Scott felt that the castle was owned by a very wicked family and that their presence could still be felt. One of our team members reported a severe headache in this room, which stopped after leaving the room. Scott felt that the spirits in this area wanted us to leave. Vigil (Joanne and Scott) – During this vigil, lights were seen but unfortunately were not captured on camera. Joanne and Scott tried a séance and Scott seemed to be connecting to the woman picked up on earlier by the name of Kate/Katie. All EMF and temperature readings remained constant. Bedroom 21 Temperature – 22 degrees Walkround – Scott sensed that there was a lady present, someone who had made this room her own. He was able to describe her as wearing a long dress and having long, curly hair. He got the name Jane followed by the initial E. He sensed that she sat by the window and that she was very happy here. Vigil (Lisa and Aileen) – This bedroom seemed to have a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Using digital camcorders, we managed to capture several light anomalies including a flash of light next to the chair at the window. There were also a couple of unusual noises caught on the camcorder which we have been unable to identify. All EMF and temperature readings remained constant. Bedroom 24 Walkround with Scott – Scott felt that there was a very thick atmosphere here caused by spirits. He felt there was a strong connection to illness in this room, possibly the plague. Scott picked up on a woman, Lady Stuart. There was very noticeable atmosphere in this bedroom. Perhaps most noticeable thing was the smell that hit us as soon as we entered the room. The smell was a very heavy, musty kind of smell. Several members of our team seemed to be affected in this room, from having extreme heartburn to a tasting a strong metallic taste. One of our team members was so badly affected that he had to leave the room. Vigil (John and Andrew) – During this vigil, light anomalies were detected using our equipment, again, our team members felt very uncomfortable. Vigil (Mark. Lisa and Paul) – Light anomalies again were captured during the second vigil in bedroom 24. This vigil was cut short when Mark, who had been affected by the atmosphere in this room during the earlier walkround, had to leave after experiencing severe dizziness and feelings of nausea. These feelings subsided soon after leaving this room. Mark had been feeling fine throughout the whole investigation and only felt unwell on the two occasions that he entered this room, these feelings were bad enough to make him leave the area both times. On analysing our sound files from this vigil we had received a response when we asked if there was anyone present could they say their name into our low frequency sound recorder, the voice appears to say "yes, Stewart" (See EVP File 3). All EMF and temperature readings remained constant. Reception Area Summary We found the fluctuating Electro Magnetic Field readings that were picked up in many areas to be very unusual. Most electrical appliances give off a constant field that remains static. In allegedly haunted locations there seems to be and abundance of moving/fluctuating fields that are explained as spirit energy fields. ---------------------------------------------------------- Airth Castle is a fantastic location that has had many reported ghost sightings and experiences. We would love to return at some point in the future to carry out further investigation.
